Actiongirls is a club of the University of Windsor located in Windsor, Ontario, Candada. It was founded in 2005 to offer students the opportunity to organize and offer woman-focused and woman-friendly activities for the entire campus.
Actiongirls is involved in:
- raising awareness about women's issues
- speaking out against injustice
- empowering individuals
- engaging in discussion on issues that are important to women
- engaging in collective activism
Events for the 2005/2006 school year include Club Days, 1st Year Orientation, Discussion Group, Movie Nights, Original Theatre, Sexuality Seminar, Self-defence workshop and much much more.
The club is completely student run, consisting (on paper) of an elected executive including a President, Vice President, and Secretary although the group uses strategies of feminist group process which encourage consensus building.
Actiongirls fully complies with the regulations as stated in the Club Handbook provided by the University of Windsor Student Association.
