have you heard of the "treadmill desk"?  Combines a treadmill and computer, meant to be used at a very slow speed - continuously through the day.

You might try this with your reading but... you'd need a treadmill for starters.</description>

		<description>Good idea Karen!  I tried it though and ended up reading my book wrapped in a blanket on the couch...I'm sure you can guess how that one ended.  

I find if I get up and move around when I realize I'm getting sleepy I can prevent the nap -- but then I'm not reading.</description>

		<description>Hi candace turn the heat down.  There is nothing like being uncomfortably cold to keep you awake.  I say this as I sit here at the computer in the coldest part of my drafty old house next to a big badly insulated window.  Of course this may make concentrating some what difficult.
